ATS resume for registered nurses

Hospital and clinic postings screen hard on credentials and setting: license type, certifications, unit experience, patient population, and the charting system you use. If any of those is missing, abbreviated oddly, or buried, the system may rank you below nurses with the same qualifications written more clearly. We make every credential findable and every unit's work measurable.

Keywords

What registered nurse postings search for

Screening software ranks your resume on the terms in the posting. These are the ones that recur for this role — we mirror the ones you genuinely have, spelled the posting's way.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license, state named
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Electronic medical records (EMR) — Epic, Cerner, or MEDITECH
  • Patient assessment and care planning
  • Medication administration
  • Clinical setting: med-surg, ICU, ED, telemetry, pediatrics, or your unit
  • Patient education and discharge planning
  • Care coordination and interdisciplinary rounds
  • Infection control and patient safety
  • Specialty certifications (CCRN, OCN, CEN), where held

Common mistakes

Where registered nurse resumes lose the ranking

License details the parser cannot find

"RN" alone is not enough. Postings search for the full credential, the state, and sometimes the license type (compact or single-state). We state them plainly and consistently.

Experience written as unit duties

Every nurse on the unit shares the same duty list. What ranks and persuades is patient load, acuity, special populations, and the outcomes or responsibilities that were yours.

EMR experience mentioned nowhere

Charting systems are a named requirement in many postings. If you chart in Epic, Cerner, or another system, it belongs in Skills and in the role where you used it.

Certifications listed only as abbreviations

Screening searches use both forms. We write each certification out in full at least once, with its abbreviation — BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, as applicable to you.

What we tailor

How HireReady tailors a registered nurse resume

Same honesty rules as everything we write: nothing invented, nothing submitted in your name without your approval, and no hiring guarantees — just your real record, written so screening software and hiring managers both find it.

  • License, certifications, and clinical setting placed where screening software files them, spelled out in full
  • Unit experience rewritten with patient ratios, acuity, and population — the scale details postings search for
  • EMR and clinical-system keywords matched to the facility's posting
  • A keyword match report against your target posting, so you can see the before and after
